I didn’t have a good feeling about Santonio to start the season. In this third year, he should be breaking out, but if you read my article on the third-year WR theory this offseason, you know I don’t necessarily believe in it.

I thought the Steelers would return to the run game this season with Parker and Mendenhall and reduce Holmes’ touches, but despite the productivity in the passing game, Holmes has taken a back seat. Either Big Ben’s arm/shoulder isn’t quite healthy enough to heave it out to Holmes several times each game or, in a pinch, the team looks to Ward and not Holmes. In the close ones they have had this season, the Steelers seem to lean on Ward to make the play rather than giving Holmes a chance.

I don’t like him moving forward, but he still has a great deal of upside/potential.
